Kiwi bird by Malou and Elias


Kiwi birds live in new Zealand and looks like a kiwi fruit.
Kiwi birds can't fly and have bad eyesight so they use the feeling.
They eat berries, worms, leaves, insects and reptiles.                                                                            The kiwi birds has around body shape, they doesn't have a button and have little wings.                    They have gray-brown pelt and theirs plumage are dense and stubby.
They have strong and short feetes and a long slim neb.
They have a variety of whisker around the neb ho helps they find food in dark.
Their call is like k-wee as given their name.
In a long time though people that it only a was tree varieties of kiwi birds and later people compared the kiwi birds D.N.A and understood its was more then tree varieties of kiwi birds.
Only 5% of the hatched  kiwis live so long before they be sexually mature and more of them kills of rats, cats and stoats.
Its ongoing a active work to peering kiwi birds on predator free islands around new zealand.
After a year, until their are enough big.
They send them back to their original homes.
The name kiwi came from theirs sound and its like k-wee.
The name and the birds status like a symbol for new zealand.
