The polar bear by Axel & Elin

The polar bear is the largest carnivore on land. They can grow up to 3 meters, and Their weight is 400-6O50 kg. The largest polar bear ever found had the incredible weight of 902,7 kg! Polar bears live on the North pole, but they've been seen in canada and on the island Svalbard, Norway. They eat seals, fish and sometimes whale cadavres. When they catch up the scent of the seal, it sneaks up to it, jumps up on the ice and grabs it, then it crushes the seal's head. Polar bears actually has black skin under it's white fur. The black skin absorbs the sunlight and keeps the bear warm during the ice cold winter. They breed in may, and gets 1-3 cubs. The newborn cub bear weighs 600-900 gram, and they stay with their mother for 10 months. Polar bears don't live in hordes, because sometimes, male polar bears eat the cubs. Polar bears are really good swimmers. They can hold their breath for 10 minutes underwater! They have big paws that's used as paddles and a second transparent eyelid to see underwater. They work as a pair of swimglasses. The polar bears are almost extincted, because of the global warming that melts the ice on the North pole.
